Soccer, Soccer, Soccer...

Last week was a busy week for us. We started soccer! I say we because I am head coach of Caitlin's U8 team and Assistant Coach for Mikalya's U6 team. Because of schedule conflicts I had to spread out the practice days so we are practicing Monday thru Thursday and games are on Saturday! As if that wasn't enough I got so excited when I played against other coaches that I am going to be playing on Friday nights with these coaches starting in 2 weeks. So I will be on the field 6 days a week. Let's see how long it will take to get burnt out - any bets??

So I was thinking about last year when Caitlin started playing soccer and pulled up a few pictures which also pulled up a few funny memories...

Don't they look so little? Beautiful dress on Caitlin!

Caitlin going in for kick. She was so aggressive I was pretty impressed.

Okay here is the funny story. This team was called the Silver Bullets - as in the Beer. (the name says it all I think.) The kids I think were coached by someone who thought the game was all about winning by hurting the other team! One little girl who I thought looked like an little angel looked at us parents sitting on the sidelines and sand to us in a high pitched devil voice - "you are the enemy - you're going to lose." All the soccer moms there were horrified- where did she even learn this?
By this picture alone you can see how they didn't care about the ball- they were after my daughter! The boy on the right - was flat out pushing our players in the back and kicking them for no reason! He finally got thrown out of the game! But I and other mom's were getting pretty vocal about this little brat. I'm sorry, I mean - kid.

Again he is trying to trip Caitlin - UGH - let me at him....

Doesn't this just look wrong? Lining up to kick my daughter! Caitlin is holding him back pretty well. But she was a little upset at the end of the game about getting pushed and kicked so much.

Caitlin made the final goal and we won the game - so take that!!
Oh and did I mention one dad was drinking a beer at the game? What in the heck? I am speechless over this horrible behavior.
I can only pray I do not have parents or kids that behave this way!
