Busy start to 2008!
So far 2008 has been very busy and I am wondering if this is what the whole year will be like. Both girls started gymnastics on Monday night and absolutely love it! It is a great energy burner and the girls love to practice at home and when I say girls I mean Caitlin, Mikayla and myself. It's fun helping them with back walkovers, cartwheels and somersaults. Caitlin has informed me that this is good training for her so she can be in Cats the Musical.
I do highly suggest gymnastics to any mom who has a child that is bursting at the seams with energy. We recommended it to Mike's sister for her oldest boy who is turning 4 this year. Nathan has more energy then any child I know. He loves to jump from the time he gets up to the time he goes to sleep at night from what I have heard. Neither one of the girls are this way - is that one of the differences in boys and girls at this age?
Mike is busy with trying to decide what road to take with his career and education. He wants to go back to school and finish his Electical Engineering degree which I strongly support, but in the mean time I'm not sure what he will do. As most of you know his job at SuperValu will end in June and we still need him to work or else we will be forced to live in a trailor down by the river. We both just need to remind each other to stop trying to have contol over this and just let God do what he has planned. It will be better then anything we can come up with . But, I have to say that I hope that God's plan does not include a trailer by the river - Yikes.

Dear Mikayla,
I can't believe you are already 5 years old! What a year it has been for you. Last year for your birthday we were in Texas and just one year later we are back in Boise celebrating a mile stone birthday.
You've been so busy this year. You started at a new school in Boise and started taking tennis lessons. You really seem to love tennis and dance and I am so excited about that! You met your cousins Hannah and Kennedy for the first time and they have become close friends.
You got to go to Disneyland for the first time with Grandma and Papa Warren. We had the most amazing time. It was so wonderful to see your face light up at all the wonder. You were such a trooper too - we went non stop from 8am to 4pm then we would go swimming for about an hour to cool off and then we would get dressed, have dinner and go back into the park for more fun. You did a great job keeping up with everyone!
We spent the summer having so much fun with family and friends. You took more swimming lessons this year and you almost have it down. I'm sure this year you will accomplish the task of swimming!
My dear sweet Kaylie, I love you so much and I am so proud of you. You are growing up so fast and it's so wonderful to see the kind of person you are. We have learned this year that you are an amazing song writer and solo artist. Listening to you make up your own songs with a new tune you've created makes us see just how talented you are. You even have a little southern drawl to it. We've also seen such a wonderful new approach to school and you have learned so much in Pre-K - I know you will be reading soon! You've also learned so much about what it means to have Jesus in your heart and what Jesus did for us. You make my heart smile when you talk about God's love and when you pray on your own to thank God for your family.
I'm so excited to see what this year will reveal to us. Will you continue to explore the music world? Will you want to continue with tennis lessons? What new wonderful things will you learn? Will you love gymnastics and/or soccer?
Thank you for being you Mikayla, thank you for keeping me on my toes too.
I love you sweetheart.
I love you sweetheart.
Love,
Mommy
