W.O.W Project #2 - Here we go....

W.O.W. stands for Within One Week. I am picking a project that I will get done in one week. My friend Becky runs this little challenge and she picks winners at the end to give free coffee to! For those who know me I can't pass this up with free coffee on the line!!

Last time I had a pretty big goal which I accomplished and it felt great. This week I'm not going as big and here's why. I am having about 30 people over on Saturday and I need to have this done by then. Okay I don't need it done - but I want it done by then.

I have a unfinished painting project and a little add on to it - here it is...

The picture didn't come well but the wall on the right is darker - it doesn't look as dark here. Anyway -I have to finish the kitchen in this "base" color.
Part of the informal dining room that I will be painting...

The three walls that make up the pantry will be in a "accent" color...

The island wall will be in the same "accent" color.

Happy Mothers Day!

Ahhhh - Mothers day! What a great holiday to celebrate! I wasn't able to spend Mothers day with my mom this year but I know she was in good hands. I think the hardest part of her day was getting out of the swimming pool! Such a rough day! Missed you today mom- I love you!

I also love this holiday b/c it's one more day out of the year where breakfast is served to me in bed! (My birthday is the other day!) This year I was patiently waiting for my breakfast when the screeching chirp came from our smoke alarms. I knew Mike had everything under control so I didn't worry, I just sat there and smiled. About 10 minutes later, my family walks through the door. The girls had gifts in hand that they had made at school and Mike had the tray of goodies! They had even picked lilacs from the yard to dress up the tray. It was perfect!

After my wonderful morning we met up with Mike's parents at a winery for brunch! I know it sounds like a lot of food but we actually didn't eat until noon. The time spent there was fabulous! They had live music, white tables set up all across the lawn, waterfalls were flowing, the sun was out and fun activities for the kids. Very well planned out.

Here are a few photos for ya...

Caitlin could do this no problem!
Kaylie got it too after a bit...

Irene - not so much. But it was fun watching!
Mike tried but no can do...

Kaylie deep in thought... Most likely writing a song in her head!
