Catching up...

So I feel like I am playing catch up on my blogging. Last weekend while Mike was out having a guys night I went over to my friend Ambre's house. She and her husband are the one's that took our wonderful dog Cowboy when we had to move. It's always nice to hang out with her, and our kids love to play together so the house just explodes with little ones running about and we all enjoyed seeing Cowboy again.

What a great dog!

Racing Heart and 911...

Okay - here is a good story for ya.

All other adults living in this house are gone for the night. It's 11:00 at night and I'm tired. I close my PC, turn off the TV and then I hear a man's voice. My heart stops - I hold my breath. I hear it again - there are two men outside having a conversation. I reach for my idea of a weapon - my cell phone. I get out of bed, walk toward the back windows and I still hear them Still haven't taken a breath and I'm pretty sure my heart was still not beating.

I walk upstairs and walk toward the other back door and I hear the men again. As soon as I hear their voices I become aware that I am in my nightie and I instantly felt more vulnerable. I dial 911 and that is when I think my heart started to beat and I was finally breathing again. I know this b/c the 911 operator had to tell me to calm down 3 times so he can get the address which I had to spell out twice. He asked me who was in the house and if the doors were locked. I told who was here, that the doors were locked and that the alarm to the house was on. He then asked if I had a weapon. Oh my - why is he asking this? I told him yes but it was still in the safe. He quickly said to keep it there. :) I guess I sounded too nervous to be able to handle a gun.

As I was talking to him and he was dispatching the officers, I changed out of my nightie and into shorts and a t-shirt. Heart still racing but feeling better that the cops are coming to rescue me from the two men that were outside in my back yard having a nice conversation. I hung up the phone and got brave. I went upstairs, turned the alarm off and opened the deck door - You can't get to this door from the yard - see how brave I am. So with phone in hand and my finger on the send button in case I had to call 911 again I step outside. I hear nothing. I wait... Finally, I hear the voices that had been haunting me for the last 2 minutes. I quickly realize the voices are the announcers down at the BSU stadium! We are not able to hear the roar of the crowd on game nights but during a marching band competition I can hear the announcers! Mind boggling!

A wave of stupidity washed over my body as I pressed the send button. I called off the cops, re-checked all the doors, turned the alarm back on and here I sit - an hour later with my heart still racing every time I hear the voices! It could be along night.

Oh and when I went to triple check all the doors I looked out the front windows and saw a cop drive by on our little street. Thank you Mr. Police Officer for doing a drive by!

Pumpkins, Corn and Camels? ... oh my!

Last weekend we took the kids to the pumpkin patch, corn maze and petting zoo - all in one stop!
The kids in the huge maze!

Mikayla being scary!
Taking a little photo opp break in the maze! Mike got us through it without a single wrong turn! My very own GPS! At the petting zoo - they had a camel who liked Kaylie's hair and a zebra who almost took her fingers off!

The girls did a fun little ride around the farm
It was so warm last Saturday - I couldn't believe it had snowed just a week earlier!
They had pony rides at this place too! Kaylie and Caitlin got lucky and got to ride on the big horse! The girls LOVE horses and had a great time with M&M!

Caitlin looking so cool...
