The other night Mike and I were watching a show on the Food channel called Fried Food Paradise. Basically it was about all the things people fry up and serve in their restaurants across America. I got the idea after watching the clip of people frying up pickles that we should do that. So that comment led us to make a list of food items that would be fun or interesting to fry.
That brings us to today. We went to the store, list in hand. The list contained mostly of junk food, items we never buy and I have to admit that I was so embarrassed of what was in our cart. I actually tried to hide the items with a box of cereal! Needless to say I made sure we went to the self check out line so no one would see what we were buying.
After bringing the oil to the desired temp we started to roll the junk food in the batter and in they went.... Here are a few pictures to tell the story.

Fried Pickles

On this plate there are Twinkies, Pop Tarts, a Snickers, Starbursts, Oreo's, banana slices and an Apple Pie.
I only tried a pickle slice, an Oreo, a Banana slice and a small bite of the Twinkie and then I was feeling very sick. Mike tried a few other items and the girls only tried one Oreo. So I guess I'm not a bad mom since the kids didn't eat much. :) We had fun planning this out and then frying it all up. Most of this is still on the plate and up for grabs for anyone who would like it!
