I love my hubby...
Last night we were having our friends Ben and Angela over for dinner and to just have a relaxing evening at home. When they arrived Angela and I went back out to go get some take out (this was their way of getting me out of the house). We were gone for about 30 minutes and when we got home I walked into our house and was greeted with our friends yelling out Surprise and popping poppers at me. It was a great surprise party! Mike bought all sorts of decorations and had streamers up all over. Mike even went to my favorite little French bakery and got a cake for the evening. There was a big banner hanging up that said Happy 30th Birthday! So I guess I am finally 30 - oh yikes!
For the last of my birthday celebrations, Mike let me sleep in this morning and then woke me up at 10:00 with breakfast in bed. It was fabulous! It was a wonderful birthday and I will never forget it. Thanks to everyone who helped make this birthday so great and especially to you Mike - you were so thoughtful in all that you did! I love you sweetie!!

Happy Birthday to me!!
Yes today is my birthday, Happy Birthday to me! I am turning the magic number of 30....again!
Here is the story of my day...
Last night I took a "night time" medicine since I am still sick and needed something to help knock me out for the night. Little did I know that at 1:15 in the morning I would need to wake up. I woke up to the sound of one of my daughters screaming for me. As I dragged my tired body out of bed and tried to wake my brain up I stumble out of my bedroom to find Mike already with Mikayla and the poor sweet dear child is covered in throw up! Right then my brain woke up and super mommy fought off the medicine and I took Mikayla into the bathroom and helped her with a quick shower which included hair washing. Mike took care of the bedding and put fresh linens on her bed while I was with her. That is some good team work there!!
So, as I sat with my beautiful daughter on the floor of my bathroom blow drying her long hair, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 1:45 in the morning. I was born at 1:40am,30 some years ago. I thought to myself - Happy Birthday Andi. Even though cleaning up throw up is the last thing I want to do I felt so blessed in that moment. I felt blessed just to have my baby with me at that time and thought about how wonderful life has been.
I want to say I have had my far share of challenges but actually, I need to say "we" have had our challenges. I was never alone in those, God was always there with me, my hubby even through our challenges he was always there for me too. Whenever I needed my friends I knew I could call on them. I just feel so blessed for the life I have and the wonderful people in it. I love my beautiful girls so much and I am in awe over them.
Anyway, needless to say Mikayla stayed home from school and since I was still sick I stayed home too. She actually was feeling much better in the morning so we just played games together, read books, and practiced her sight words. It was a wonderful day. My parents sent me some flowers and some chocolates from our favorite florist J' Michaels and when Mike came home he made my favorite cake and after dinner we all enjoyed cake and ice cream and opened presents. It was a low key evening and perfect in every way.

Houston we have a snow day!!!!
Finally the schools close and we get a snow day! The girls and I were very happy this morning when we were all able to sleep in a little bit. But, I am sick anyway so I wasn't going to go into work, but this way I have company. I do wonder if that is really a good thing when the girls are wanting my attention all day?
I sent the girls outside to play in the snow for awhile this morning - they, of course had a great time throwing snow on the dog and he loved having them outside!
They then came in and I decided to keep them busy with an art project. So all three of us ended up painting some wooden frames and then the girls painted some beautiful pictures for us to hang. I painted two frames, one for each girl for their bedrooms. It was a lot of fun. The girls are now upstairs playing and I am going to go veg out on the couch.
The forecast is that we are suppose to have more snow tonight - could we actually get another snow day??

Weekend fun...
Well, to make this short and sweet, we traded our cars in and we were able to lower our monthly payments! Believe it or not we traded a 2006 Honda Accord for a 2006 Subaru Forester and a 2007 Honda Pilot for a 2007 Toyota RAV4. It's strange how we lowered our payments but were still able to get great cars. We are thrilled with the new cars and the fact they are both AWD.
Here are some interesting facts -
January 31st, 1999 - we signed an earnest money agreement for our first house
January 31st, 2000 - We signed another earnest money agreement for our second house
January 31st, 2001 - we went in for an ultra sound and found out that we were having a girl
May 23, 2006 - we bought my Honda Accord
January 31st, 2007 - we signed an agreement with a Realtor to sell our house in Texas
January 31st, 2008 - we will have to register both of our new cars.
You are probably wondering why I listed those things. Well January 31st is my birthday and May 23rd is our anniversary. It seems that we like to make big decisions on either my birthday or our anniversary. I just find it very interesting.
Saturday - The girls went over to Mike's parents house to have a sleep over. They had a great time! Irene took the girls to the fabric store and they each got to pick out fabric of their choice and then they each designed their own play dresses and Irene did all the sewing. The girls look so cute and I am amazed at what Irene can do in a short period of time. I need to take lessons.
So with no kids in tow - Mike and I went over to a friends house once their kiddo's were down for the night and had a great evening just hanging out and watching old home video's that the guys made about 11 years ago. We had a great night B & A!
Sunday we slept in, went to a movie and then met back up with the girls. It was relaxing day!
Both girls are hoping that with all the snow coming our way this week they may get a snow day and be able to stay home from school. We shall see...
