The hits keep coming...

So last Wednesday I started having pain in my shoulder - by Friday the pain was really bad, it had spread to my rib cage area and I was having a hard time breathing. I went out with some girlfriends on Friday night, Natalie and Jessica, and we ended up back at the house to enjoy some wine and to continue with our talk. By 3:30am when my girlfriends left, my entire body was shaking b/c of the pain in my shoulder and my entire torso. I couldn't take a deep breath at all and honestly I was a little nervous about that. I ended up taking some left over pain killers that I had from my surgery and they barely took the edge off. Even though my night was short since I didn't get to bed until almost 4:00am, it was a very long night.

I was able to get in to see my doctor on Saturday morning and after X-rays at his office they determined I had fluid in my chest. Side note - this fluid pushes on the diaphragm which pushes into the lungs as I try to breathe making it difficult. The pain in the shoulder is a transfer of pain - again caused by the fluid.

So off to the hospital I go to get a CT scan and blood work done. After all the tests were done, it's been concluded that I have pneumonia. I don't understand it -I haven't even been sick - so I'm at a lost on how I got this.

So here I am laying in bed, taking 3 different types of meds - and they all make me dizzy, nauseous and very tired. I'm on these for the next 10 days and I have a feeling it's going to be a long 10 days.
