As most of you know, while Mike finishes school we have decided to rent our house out so Mike can go to school full time and not work. Thanks to Ryan (the same Ryan that adopted Cowboy) we have renters for our house. Ryan works as a Realtor on the side and ended up having some clients that needed to rent a house while they build a new one. Perfect timing!! So with just a weeks notice we are out of the house.
Well, we are almost out. We moved everything that we wanted to have with us to Bob and Irene's except for my off season clothes. For those who know me well, know that I have a ton of clothes. This should be interesting since we don't have much of a closet but thankfully we have some large rolling bar racks that we are setting up in the furnace room. Don't get me wrong this isn't your standard furnace room. It's actually the nicest one I have ever seen. Tile floors, built in bookshelves, insulate, and it even has textured walls. There is a small closet that I am giving to Mike to use and I get everything else. :) I'll take pictures to show you what our new digs look like once I get us settled in.
As I type, I am in the only chair that doesn't have clothes draped across it and I am surrounded by bags of food. I have to make room in Irene's pantry for all of our stuff - boy that should be fun! Thankfully, I am off tomorrow and will be spending the day at the old house moving the rest of my clothes over and throwing the rest of our junk into boxes to put into storage. Oh and did I mention I need to clean too. UGH!!! Thankfully, I have a friend who is coming to help me out tomorrow. Mike will be apart of the action as well, so don't think he is getting out of it. Tomorrow night I will attack the kitchen to get our stuff in there as well.
So, today our friends Brian and Emily came and helped us out. Brian is "The Man" when it comes to moving! I said that just for you Brian. Anyway, in the 10 years that Mike and I have been married Brian and Em have helped us move every time - which after thinking about it today has been 9 times! Emily even flew down to Texas to help move us back! We had a good laugh today when I pointed out that we picked the right friends to ask every time since they never move so we have yet had to pay the favor back. Don't worry guys, if you ever move we will be first in line with tape and empty boxes. But on the flip side we also realized they have it figured out that when I am tired of packing I start giving things away. In the past they have walked away with a lot of stuff. Today was no different and I'm sure tomorrow will keep in tradition. Good job guys!
So here's how today went. We packed and loaded cars or trucks with boxes, clothes, dressers, mattresses and our bikes. The thing is that everything we moved over was upstairs in our house. (Except our bikes.) Everything downstairs in the house had to go upstairs into storage. So there was no going up or down the stairs without your arms full. Oh and even though we were inside, the storage room was about 115 degrees inside of it and it was 100 degrees outside. We picked the hottest day so far this year to move. Still I am thankful it isn't humid here! Wow - I just pulled a Pollyanna on ya!
Packing Tape $15
Packing Paper $20
Gas moving from house to house $20
Eating out all day $30
Moving boxes - $100
Losing weight because of all the work - PRICELESS
Anyway, I have a few Thank Yous to hand out.
Thank you sooooo much Brian and Emily for all your help! We really appreciate it!
Thank you sooooo much Ryan for finding some great renters! We really appreciate it!
Thank you sooooo much Bob & Irene for opening up your home to us! We really appreciate it!
