I have some answers

I went in for x-rays today to see if they could find out what is causing all of this pain. Here is what they found.

I have spondylolisthesis. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00053 You can read about it here. Basically I broke a bone on my L5 and my hip has slipped forward. With all the stuff I've been doing lately, packing boxes, yard work, kick boxing class etc..., I have irritated the area and now it's inflamed. I started therapy today and I will go again tomorrow morning. Starting next week I will be going 3 days a week for about 2 weeks and then we will take another set of X-rays. It's interesting that I can't recall anything that would have caused this and my doctor said that it appears that this happened awhile ago - maybe years ago!

Anyway, I'm happy that I know what is causing the pain but I don't like the results. It's going to be a slow journey to feeling better and if my body doesn't respond then I am looking at surgery - again. I work with a woman at HP that had the exact same thing happen and she went through 6 months of adjustments and physical therapy and still ended up having spinal fusion. I pray my body will respond well and I can get back to my life. I am way too busy for this stuff!

Wait..you DID know that you broke your back at some point, right?? I'm confused..you were saying you couldn't think of when this had actually happened.

ANyway, I hope you feel better soon and will be prayin for complete healing! Seems the enemy is having a field day with your family right now! But, the Lord will prevail..never fear, He has a plan for your future, and it's a GOOD ONE!

Take care :)

I know it sounds funny but I really don't know how I did it. Since it could have been a year or so ago- I can't remember any incident that would have caused it.
My doctor did say that a lot of people do this and never know it - it may never hurt but since my hip has slipped forward that is what is causing so much pain.

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers. I do feel we're being hit from all directions.

How interesting! My back always hurts..hmm..maybe I've broken it, too! Ok, probably not..but, hey. It'd be a good story for the books!

Hope you're enjoying the weekend, even if it's mostly from bed! Breakfast in bed??? Foot massages in bed??? :)
