Garage Sale Round Up...

So I have concluded that garage sales aren't as bad as I thought! I was dreading this garage sale but knew I needed to get it done. I don't know what it is about them, but sitting around selling my junk to people just isn't how I like to spend my day. Thankfully I decided to start to the garage sale early on both Friday and Saturday and ended early both days as well. I didn't want to waste my whole day hanging out in the driveway.

So Friday morning came and my good friend Tarah showed up looking fresh, excited and ready to go. She loves garage sales and thankfully she kept me motivated. I dragged myself out of bed, threw on some good garage sale clothes and the hair went straight into a ponytail. We got all the well prepared and marked merchandise tables out into the drive way, worked on some last minute items and then sent Mike off to Moxie to get our Lattes.

We settled in and waited. I was so thankful Tarah was there to keep me company as we were waiting for people to show up. About 8:00 the crowds started to come through. With our double shot lattes we were able to appear somewhat with it. Around 9:30 Tarah had to leave to go to a massage and so Mike took her place. With in an hour after she left all of our furniture had sold.

By 12:30 the crowds of people were gone and it was getting hot. So we packed everything up and headed inside. Saturday started out about the same and was slow all day with just a few good buyers that came through. So we packed it up at 11:00 and threw most everything in the back of the car to take to the Idaho Young Ranch for donation.

After all was said and done we made $1114.60 in just 7.5 hours. I may hate to spend the time getting ready for garage sales and spending my mornings doing them, but it's great when it's all over and you've made good money. Having a friend to help made it nice too. We had a chance to just hang out and catch up. Thank you so much Tarah - I really couldn't have done it without you!

It was a great day of good conversation, good coffee and made good money - what more could you ask for? Okay maybe a private cabana in Hawaii but that will have to wait.
